Mouse trap

This is kind of an amusing story: Yesterday i was visiting some friends one of them tossed me something and said "Rick rude Catch!!" Well I snatched it out the air only to find it was one of these T-Rex Mouse Traps, It was set and my hand was in it. I didn't scream, it didn't really hurt (though it is a bit sore on one knuckle today) i was just surprised and so were my friends, who were all too scared to catch it themselves. Kinda reminded me of that Ashida kim Vid where he puts his hand in a bear trap to demonstrate his "Dim Mak" abilities.  Then i made them look like thorough sissy's when i started setting it and touching the spring and pulling my fingers out faster than it could close. It was a fun day.

Re: Mouse trap

That is rather humorous. I may invest in one for teaching dexterity. Smiley I have not heard of such a video, regarding Ashida Kim, could you find it online somewhere? I would look, but I wouldn't be certain it is the one, as there are so many fakes out there as it is.

Re: Mouse trap

Looks like a physics trick. A pencil is susceptible to the "score and break" method of cutting, same as a small rapid heating and cooling of glass can cut a bottle using string and alcohol. Human flesh moves, and granted, something such as that may hurt, and most people, it probably would cut, but judging by his preparation, it's not something that can be done at a moment's notice, and the way it was done made it appear as a trick.

Re: Mouse trap

It's a trick, but not fakery.  The trap looks like a #0 or #1, so it will break a rigid single pencil (the set up).  Putting all 4 fingers in, however, distributes the force.  It's not the most comfortable, but the jaws are not sharp - about 1/8 inch flat, also, look at the spring, it only travels a small portion of the way, maintaining pressure, but not closing the jaws completely.  Don't put a single finger in, however, or it will look something like that pencil.

Re: Mouse trap

Ah, I was thinking a #4, actually, but this is not my area of expertise. Even if it were, and were similar to the last one I saw, it would have only made it bleed, something that size would catch a rabbit and not much more.

Re: Mouse trap

I forgot to say do a Darth Vadar imitation and mention "ninja," "death" and "touch" with the sprung trap sitting on your hand. rolleyes
