DocNinja started training in the Bujinkan Austin, Texas training group in 1983, under the supervision of the Bujinkan Houston Dojo and Dr. R. Kelly Hill, Jr. He went on to assist in running the original Bujinkan Austin Training Group with Vince Weis and Mike Fizeseri, and assisted in setting up outdoor training as well as seminars from various members and other training groups. In 1985, he went to Huntsville, Alabama and founded the Bujinkan Huntsville Training Group, which later became the Bujinkan Huntsville Dojo. Again, the training was old-style, with seminars brought to Huntsville and the members traveling to seminars and training with senior Bujinkan members. This dojo was closed in 1992. Former members include Sensei Lee Drew of the Bujinkan Birmingham Dojo and Renshi Brian Hodges of the Genbukan Fudoshin Dojo-Cho. DocNinja has had the pleasure of training with Soke Hatsumi, Unsui Sensei Fumio Manaka, many of the Japanese shihan, as well as many of the American and European legends of the Bujinkan. DocNinja does not accept personal students at this time, though he is active on the Art of the Ninja internet forum.
